The Queensland town of Ravenshoe, which also has the distinction of being the highest town above sea level in that state, appears to have laid claim to the title of Beard Capital of Australia. Apparently many of the town's menfolk sport facial growth.Opinions seem to vary as to why this is so. To keep warm seems to be the popular reason given the altitude of the town.
Reckon they would have a way to go though to match the bearded splendour of some these old time gents, many of which are also Queenslanders.
